Frequently Asked Questions
These are not your Average Leggings
Our leggings are made from 87% polyester and 13% spandex, using fabrics that are bluesign® and OEKO-TEX® certified.
These certifications indicate the fabric has been tested and produced under standards that restrict harmful substances and support safer chemical use in textile manufacturing.
Polyester is a synthetic fiber derived from petroleum-based resources. It’s widely used in activewear because it offers durability, stretch, compression, and moisture management.
What matters is how that polyester is produced and treated. There’s a reason performance activewear relies on polyester — it provides the support and recovery needed during movement.
At Blanx, we choose the best option available: polyester sourced from suppliers that meet recognized certifications for safer chemical use in textile manufacturing.
PFAS (“forever chemicals”) are often added to textiles to create stain resistance, water repellency, or odor control.
The fabrics used in these leggings are sourced through certified systems that restrict the use of PFAS-based chemical finishes. While no synthetic textile can claim zero environmental impact, this approach significantly reduces unnecessary chemical exposure — especially for garments worn close to the skin during sweat.
All synthetic fibers, including polyester, can shed microfibers over time.
That’s why we prioritized:
- Higher-quality, longer-lasting fabrics (which shed less than low-grade synthetics)
- Construction designed for durability, not disposability
- Pieces meant to be worn longer and washed less frequently
Longevity and quality is one of the most effective ways to reduce microfiber pollution.
